Curiosity killed the cat... No, no satisfaction brought him back :) There are so many interesting things we might have never heard of them . e.g. Did you know the following about our body? :

-Our eyes are always the same size from birth :) ( interesting isn't it ? ).
-On average, you speak almost 5,000 words a day - although almost 80% of speaking is self-talk (talking to yourself).
-It is impossible to sneeze and keep one's eyes open at the same time. (although I can't open my eyes while sneezing never thought about it, before I read it, hahahaha :)).
-A person remains conscious for eight seconds after being decapitated. :(
-The muscle that lets your eye blink is the fastest muscle in your body. It allows you to blink 5 times a second.(On average, you blink 15 000 times a day. Women blink twice as much as men)
-Fingernails grow nearly 4 times faster than toenails.Your middle fingernail grows the fastest.:))
-If all your DNA is stretched out, it would reach to the moon 6,000 times. WOW:))
-The length from your wrist to your elbow is the same as the length of your foot.
-We actually do not see with our eyes - we see with our brains. The eyes basically are the cameras of the brain.

Hey All,

Today I'd like to introduce you to my beloved country Georgia:), although many people have no idea where on earth it is, still I think one should definitey visit this "little real paradise" someday :)

... Once I've told my dutch friend: "Do you know why Georgia is called little real paradise? .. he looked at me with a bit confused face and just smiled.. (I guess he was waiting for the reply with bated breath :))) ) Now let me ask you the same questions guys: "do you know why it's called a little real paradise?" .. Hmm, I think you'll never guess the correct answer, so let me tell you that Georgia is called "little real paradise" BECAUSE LITTLE ANGELS LIKE ME live in this amazing country :)))

Oh Well I won't start praising myself :)) just better I'll stop here and simply tell you that this is indeed a country one should know or get acquainted to :))

"...My mom only had one eye. I hated her… she was such an embarrassment. My mom ran a small shop at a flea market. She collected little weeds and such to sell… anything for the money we needed she was such an embarrassment. There was this one day during elementary school.

I remember that it was field day, and my mom came. I was so embarrassed. How could she do this to me? I threw her a hateful look and ran out. The next day at school… “Your mom only has one eye?!” and they taunted me.I wished that my mom would just disappear from this world so I said to my mom, “Mom, why don’t you have the other eye?! You’re only going to make me a laughingstock. Why don’t you just die?” My mom did not respond. I guess I felt a little bad, but at the same time, it felt good to think that I had said what I’d wanted to say all this time. Maybe it was because my mom hadn’t punished me, but I didn’t think that I had hurt her feelings very badly.That night…

I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a glass of water. My mom was crying there, so quietly, as if she was afraid that she might wake me. I took a look at her, and then turned away. Because of the thing I had said to her earlier, there was something pinching at me in the corner of my heart. Even so, I hated my mother who was crying out of her one eye. So I told myself that I would grow up and become successful, because I hated my one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty.

Then I studied really hard. I left my mother and came to Seoul and studied, and got accepted in the Seoul University with all the confidence I had. Then, I got married. I bought a house of my own. Then I had kids, too. Now I’m living happily as a successful man. I like it here because it’s a place that doesn’t remind me of my mom.This happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when someone unexpected came to see me “What?! Who’s this?!” It was my mother… Still with her one eye. It felt as if the whole sky was falling apart on me. My little girl ran away, scared of my mom’s eye.And I asked her, “Who are you? I don’t know you!!” as if I tried to make that real. I screamed at her “How dare you come to my house and scare my daughter! Get out of here now!!” And to this, my mother quietly answered, “oh, I’m so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,” and she disappeared. Thank goodness… she doesn’t recognize me.

I was quite relieved. I told myself that I wasn’t going to care, or think about this for the rest of my life.Then a wave of relief came upon me… one day, a letter regarding a school reunion came to my house. I lied to my wife saying that I was going on a business trip. After the reunion, I went down to the old shack, that I used to call a house…just out of curiosity there, I found my mother fallen on the cold ground. But I did not shed a single tear. She had a piece of paper in her hand…. it was a letter to me.

She wrote:

"My son,I think my life has been long enough now. And… I won’t visit Seoul anymore… but would it be too much to ask if I wanted you to come visit me once in a while? I miss you so much. And I was so glad when I heard you were coming for the reunion. But I decided not to go to the school…. For you… I’m sorry that I only have one eye, and I was an embarrassment for you.You see, when you were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your eye. As a mother, I couldn’t stand watching you having to grow up with only one eye… so I gave you mine… I was so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for me, in my place, with that eye. I was never upset at you for anything you did. The couple times that you were angry with me. I thought to myself, ‘it’s because he loves me.’ I miss the times when you were still young around me.I miss you so much. I love you. You mean the world to me."

My World Shattered. I hated the person who only lived for me. I cried for My Mother, I didn’t know of any way that will make up for my worst deeds…"

I read this story on one website and I had a big urge to share it with you.. This story shows that we aren't allowed to ever hate anyone for their disabilities, never disrespect, ignore and underestimate their sacrifices.. Parents raise us better than they had been, they do their best to give us better than they ever had.. They are always next to us when we need them and forgive us all our mistakes.. There is no way to repay what they do for us... Love your family and relatives, respect and appriciate them!..

Hello! I am Nikolas Cool, Sophie's baby boy! I was born in Greece on my Georgian mum's birthday! One day, Lady IKO (my greek mum) found me in a very dark and scary place. I was really sad and cried a lot.. Lady IKO brought me to her home right away and took a great care of me.. She had a flight that day and I accompanied her to Rijeka, Croatia.. Lady IKO told me that she has a new Georgian mum Gura for me.. (that's the way Lady IKO calls Sophie) So IKO put me in my special box, wrapped my box very beautifully and told me to sit silent in her wordrobe..

Sophie entered the room.. and friends started "blabling".. (dios mioo!! girls gossip a lot)

Finally:

Lady IKO: Gura, I have new boots, wanna see?

Mama Gura: Sureeee! I'd love to!

Lady IKO : Okay, Open the Wordrobe

Mama Gura opened the wordrobe and saw a pretty wrapped box .. LAdy IKo told that it was for her... DIOS MIOOO! she nearly screamed when she saw mee! Soo sweet of her! :D:D She is really cool mum..

and I enjoy her cuddles!

Christmas Eve in Georgia!

Christmas day is celebrated as a major festival and public holiday in most countries of the world. Xmas celebrations can vary markedly in form, reflecting differing cultural and national traditions. While most countries celebrate Christmas on December 25 each year, some Eastern Orthodox churches, including Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, Egypt, the Republic of Macedonia, Serbia and the Greek Patriarchate of Jerusalem celebrate it on January 7. This is because of our use of traditional Julian calendar, under which December 25 falls on January 7.
It is indeed Interesting how is Christmas celebrated world wide, isn't it ? Thus today I will make a kind of one day tour in Georgia for you :))) Welcome :)) do not miss this chance ;))))
Because the Georgian Orthodox Church follows the old, Julian calendar, New Year's Day is celebrated before Christmas in Georgia. So don't get surprised if I speak more about New year than Xmas. Like so many things in Georgia, Christmas celebrations are a mix of old traditions and Western influences spiced up by national "joie-de-vivre". The Orthodox Church celebrates Christmas on the 7th of January, but festivities actually start with the New Year celebration, this, however, does not prevent most people to also use 25 December as a dress-rehearsal for all the parties to come. The days before New Years are full of hectic preparations but on the evening of the 31st of December everything stops and all of Georgia is at home at a table - the tradition is to ‘meet' the New Year at home and then go partying. At midnight, champagne is open and everyone toasts and drinks to welcome in the New Year. The sky is lit with fireworks and you can even hear occasional gun shots. Neighbours often compete for the best fireworks, all of which are extremely loud and colourful. Preparations for the New Year start at least a week before the actual day. The house is decorated with the New Year tree. Great time and effort is invested into preparing a New Year Supra-Supra in Georgian means to lay the table.More than 10 different dishes are prepared for New Year's Eve.

The New Year supra is laid late evening on December 31. At midnight, the President and the Patriarch of Georgia wish a happy New Year (broadcast on all TV channels)..

People here believe in the tradition of a first footer, meaning that the first guest in a new year coming to the family can bring happiness or misery. Many families make prior agreement with a neighbour a relative, who will serve as a first footer to the family. The first footer is supposed to bring a full plate or basket of food and sweets to the family. In general, people always bring candies or chocolate bars to every place they go on a New Year's Day and even during the first week after New Year. Georgians believe that the day after New Year is a "luck day", which means that how you spend this day pretty much determines how you spend the whole year.

During the first week of New Year families visit one another and they visit even multiple families during a day. New Year has traditionally been a family-oriented holiday usually spent at home or at friends and relatives' homes. Recently, a new tradition of greeting New Year in open air had been initiated. For the past few years the Tbilisi city council has organized grand events the people attend open air concerts throughout the night of New Year's Eve.

The celebration of Christmas, however, is a quieter, more subdued affair, with many families attending church. After this everybody has a week-long break from eating, drinking and partying until the celebration of the ‘old New Year' - 14 January (the New Year according to the Church calendar) - with more fun and fireworks.

Christmas is the biggest religious holiday after the Easter. It is celebrated on January 7th in Georgia. Due to the fact that New Year here is celebrated before Christmas, the latter one has more a spiritual value and no secular importance. Religious people fast 40 days prior to Christmas, which means that they are fasting during the big Supra times of New Year, too. For the reason people who are fasting until Christmas celebrate the old style New Year on the 14th of January more.

On Christmas Eve there are religious ceremonies in almost all churches. Churches are usually packed with people. The religious ceremony in the church lasts sometime before 5 am and is followed by the traditional "Alilo" in the morning. Alilo is a religious song sung on the Christmas day, so the tradition of Alilo carries the name of the song. Alilo is basically a charity event.

Alilo Partipants go around the community and collect contributions for charity purposes. The tradition of gift-giving during Christmas or New Year is not so common in Georgia unlike America or European countries.
The procession includes both laymen and clergy singing traditional Christmas songs to celebrate the birth of the Jesus Christ. They usually have horse-dawn wagons with them, where people put alms for the poor. At the end of the procession all the gathered food and goods are given to charity.

If all of the above really confused you, the only way to find out what is actually going on in Georgia for the first two weeks of every year is to ... yes, you guessed correctly - go and visit!! Welcome :)))

London Chess Classic 2009

London hosts the ¨World's Cream!¨

London Chess Classic is the strongest tournament in the Uk for 25 years.

Magnus Carlsen, Vladimir Kramnik, Hikaru Nakamura, Nigel Short, Michael Adams, Ni hua, Luke McShane and David Howell fight for winning the title.

Tournament began with a top seed game M.Carlsen vs V.Kramnik. 19-year-old Norwegian, world's 2nd rated and everybody's chess hero Magnus Carlsen outplayed the former World Champion Vladimir Kramnik.

The longest game (ever maybe at least in this tournament) which lasted for 7 hours was the game of Luke McShane vs Nigel Short. Luke managed to win in 163 moves... Nigel : ¨I should have been able to hold the draw¨ watch the video : ¨Not very short¨ - http://www.londonchessclassic.com/videos.htm

The game of David Howell and Michael Adams was very live, fresh game but eventually none of them managed to win and it finished draw.

Hikaru Nakamura vs Ni Hua was indeed very interesting game ( I guess Hikaru missed a win somewhere) which finished also draw.

Magnus Carlsen scored another convincing victory over Luke McShane and took the lead. Vladimir Kramnik bounced back and won over chinese GM Ni Hua. Nigel Short vs David Howell and Michael Adams vs Hikaru Nakamura were drawn.

Quick hello of my crazy busy life!

I've been absent from my own blog for a couple of weeks because of my enourmous amount of work. New age entered my life. Now that I am already a student new works are needed, new friends are made and new goals have to be achieved. Apart from my busiest day schedule I am pretty much enjoying the life and having a lot of fun.

My recent chess plan is to participate on World youth chess championship which is held in Turkey-Antalya from the 10th of november till 23rd, soooo wish me luck :D:D

Many times world and Europe champion Meri Arabidze also leads EYCC u16. She should win agaisnt Kazimova Narmin and she'll win the event again and again :)

Hiiii People

Everything's good?

I am in Barcelona now, arrived yesterday, and I am still missing and loving Andorra..

Missing totally everything that is connected with this country.. We had a great time, laughed a lot, had fun and absolutely loved the people & the situation... Anyway..

It was 17th of july, already time to enter this cute and tiny country.. We went to Andorra by passing Lleida from Balaguer, as we accompanied Levan and Zurab to their Open international tournament..

7:30 pm - arrival time..

Came out from the shuttle bus and..... It was freezing.. Raining... The wind blowing.... Aw my god...
So nice after 42 C in balaguer but as well so unpleasant when you are in a summer dress..

Oscar De La Riva - The orginiser, GM from Andorra who participated in the Open, met us up on an arrival place.. Showed Andorra a bit , gave us a necessery information and brought us to the hotel ¨Sant Gothard¨.. - A very nice and lovely hotel..

Time went by, soooooooooooooo fasttttt.. !! Aw J, We still could remember the arrival time as a yesterday.. We didn't want to leave , as we totally fell in love with this tiny country, but we had to..

Thus.. now we are in Barcelona - the best city ever! :P and we'll soon go to La pobla del Lillet..

Part 2: Slept- was winning, Woke up - was completely lost!

ayy.. 8:30 hours in a bus, to reach Uludag... Was completely shattered.. Finally! reached the hotel, came out with my 2 sweeeeetcases, looked around and saw: mountain, again mountain , again mountain and sky! So cute right? :S

anyway..The night went by and it was time to see my 3 halfs : Qo (Ana) , Kitty and Maghie.. Anything more needed to be said? Hope not .. haha

So the league took it's start, won 1st round and had a rest for the 2nd one. Dawned... 3 round started at 2:30, at 1:00pm Capitan came, with his speech: Sopiko ! I know you are very good! Playing perfectly!, Having a great performance! BUT ! Today, please DON'T PLAY! LOL jajaja...

Then played 5 games in a raw and it's time for last round... The last round started at 9:30.. So it's logical to sleep early, but if we are just 3 in the room (qo kitty and me) trust me it's impossible.. Suddenly the 3 of us fallen asleep at 4:00 am and and got up at 8:00.. Wehehehell I guess everything is said..

The round started... Can't stop yawning.. It's already a middlegame I am pawn up so I put my hands on my head, to make an imagination of thinking but actually was sleeping... 10 minutes after woke up, looked the postion , was still pawn up but was completely lost... Hmm wierd.. Anyway Conclusion : Slept - was winning, Woke up - was loosing, Played - made draw...

Ana was totally surprised and decided to drop a line to my family.. After a big investigation my family decided to discribe me totally...

In fact I am sitting gently in an office armchair and thinking of when they'll pick me up...

after 1:30 hour I hear ¨ Sopiko GuramAshvili, please immediately come to the information desk¨... in a minute i was there and I hear a tall boy calling from up to down: sopikoo?? I said yes yes.. And he gives me a paper where is written :

I bought a ticket from istanbul to bursa for you and GM Odeev, We will now go to pick up Odeev from his hotel and after I will drive you to the bus station.. OK?

208 players from different countries struggled hard, for 9 days.. And finally the tournament showed the strongest player..

Baadur Jobava, GM and a big pride of georgian chess field, totally crushed the tournament and won it clear 1st with 8/9..

Today concluded an international open "Chiburdanidze Cup" which was held in Tbilisi, Georgia.. 54 women struggled for the prize places..

21 years old, Georgian WGM Bela Khotenashvili (rated 11th) made a total surprise to a chess field and won the event, without missing the leadership!

Georgian Championship U16 concluded yesterday and I am very glad to inform you that CPA members didn't let anyone to be first and gained gold medals!

Mariam Danelia already and old CPA member, my very close friend and a very cute girl won the title! So Mariam is chanmpion of Georgia U16! Congrats my ¨sugar plum¨ :D:D all the best to you :*:*

And a new ¨baked¨ member of CPA who has just visited and participated in Spain, played the tournament brilliantly and won the title of the event :)

How are you guys? Sorry for not being in contact for a long time, but the reason of my disapear was a ¨Georgian Championship U18¨, that's exactly what I was on about recently :)

The tournament went really really good, it just concluded today and the CPA member ¨Mysterious lady¨ Sophie, keeps you happy, informing that she won the event clear first 8/9 !...

Another CPA member Keti Tsatsalashvili was successful as well and came 2nd 6.5/9, 3rd was Lela Ugulava... Thus Sophie and keti will take part on Euro and World youth Championships :)

There were a big struggles among boys too.. Luka Paichadze took the leadership and gained the title of Georgian champion U18, 2nd was elo favourite David Benidze, 3rd Giorgi Nikolashvili ...

I want to congratulate top 3 players and wish them best luck on upcoming events :)

Round 8 and a funny creature

Uiii I can't stop laughing when i remind my 9th day in St. Petersburg.. :D:D

It was quite sunny but still freezing outside, we had a 20minutes walk till the round. Thus we went in the park which was covered with snow and suddenly a strange creature called Ksenia - ¨Ksusha¨ caught our attention.

Well I couldn't stop laughing but i had to play a game against Ukrainian WGM 2490, Europe and Olimpic champion Zhuova Natalia.

Before the game started.. Zhukova - Guramishvili 0.5:0.5.. The game was very tiring, it lasted for 75 moves and 5:30 hours..:s I couldn't do anything after the game... Mrs. Chocolate,( desert) Mrs. Spagetti (2nd plate) and Mrs Greek Salad (1st plate) Supported Mrs. Khachapuri (???) till the last minute :D:D Thanks girls..You are all delicious :*:*:*:X:X:X

CITY TOUR...

Wuhuuu... The day off began! :) There was so many things left to see in St. Petersburg.. Thus our tour started exactly on 11:00 am... I dare say my sister was a perfect guide ;)

With georgian girls we started our tour visiting the Church of Saint Ksenia of St. Petersburg, where is her grave..

St. Ksenia of Petersburg is one of the most esteemed saint in Russia and especially in St.Petersburg. St. Ksenia was the wife of Colonel Andrei Feodorovich Petrov, who served as a court chanter. At the age of 26, Ksenia was widowed and, appeared to have lost her mind from grief: she distributed her possessions to the poor, dressed herself in the clothes of her reposed husband, and, as if having forgotten her own name, called herself by the name of her reposed husband - Andrei Feodorovich.

St. Ksenia had the gift of clairvoyance. On the eve of the Nativity of Christ in 1762, she walked about Petersburg and said, "Bake blini! Tomorrow all Russia will bake blini!" After this, Georgian delegation has been devided into groups.. Some wanted to visit the Church of Ressurection, Some wanted to visit the admiralty, Isaac's Cathedral and so on.. My sister and me went to another island where was THE STS. PETER AND PAUL CATHEDRAL..

In 1998, the remains of the last Russian Emperor, Nicolas II and the various members of his family who were shot to death in Ekaterinburg in June 1918 were buried in the Cathedral..

After Visiting and listening to the guide, we went back to the city center.. It was that freezing that the river Neva was all ice.. It was so frozen that children were skating and running on it.. Well as we spent much time there we decided to cut the way and went in the center by walking on the neva .. It was complitely cool;)

By crossing the river we came on Vasilevsky Island, where we met the Rostral Column..
A rostral column is a monumentally scaled column, originating in ancient Greece and Rome where they were erected to commemorate a naval military victory..

Round 7, Visited The Admiralty

I already knew the pairing, which was very unpleasant to know.. I was against georgian IM Sophio Gvetadze 2377.. Probably you'll agree with me, that being abroad on WIECC and having ¨native¨ opponent is not that pleasant... Well as bussiness is bussiness, chess is chess as well..

After the game we visited the admiralty.. Which was indeed beautiful..

In 1704, on Admiratly island, work began on the building of a shypiard that was designed by Peter the Great himself. At the beginning of 19th century, the Admiralty underwent fundamental reconstuction under the watchful eye of Andrean Zakharov. The new Admiralty was envisaged as a unique monument to the russian fleet, thus its main entrance was given the form of a triumphal arch.

Round 6th, visited Isaac's Cathedral, Made more new good freinds

Gaponenko Inna, again famous Ukrainian Olympic champion, IM 2450...

Gaponenko decided to struggle with benoni structure... She chose the line with 9...b5 where white has an extra pawn... After some moves we got rook equal ending.. Thus the game finished with draw..

As I've finished the game not too much late, I wanted to see as many sights in the city as it was possible.. Thus we went to visit a famous Isaac's cathedral..

My 6th day In St.Petersburg

Round 5, again sights and making a perfect new friend

Well, Well, Well... The sunlight broke a dark night and it was already 9:00 am.. The time we usually went on the breakfast... During the walk on the hallway I've met my sweetest sugar cake with her BIOLOGICAL mummy hehehe, you can see us on the photo..

We went together on our breakfast way and in the entrance the restaurant servant is asking us: Sorry Are you chess players? We confessed our profession and suddenly she told us: We've got lots of guests so you should go down on an another ¨NOT OFFICIAl¨ hall to have a breakfast! What a disrepect, man! :D:D The servant didn't explain us the way clearly, so we were nearly lost... But fortunately one greek girl saw us and asked: Sorry are you searching for the new breakfast hall? We gave her our goffy smiles and shooked our heads up and down... :D:D She was so kind to us that she saw us off till the breakfast hall.
Maria Ikomonopoulou the greek girl who saw us off till the breakfast hall and became my very good friend.. Love ya (made in grecce) haha, I know you will see this report...

We've finished our breakfast saw the pairing and went to my room to prepare..

My IM row continued and my next opponent was quite strong, again Russian Turova Irina 2379. She wasn't playing much openings thus my preparation didn't take a long time... I was already ready and free like a bird 1:30 hour before the game.. What should have I done? Sit in the hotel where was extremely hot? Look again the games? No, No, No.. I wished to walk, to breath fresh air, to be in the snow hehe (I know I am totally crazy :D:D)... Thus I had a nice walk before the game.. Now let's see what have I seen during my walking :P

As we went out, the snow gave us a big smile....

Finally we reached the playing hall and the game started...The game continued in a very interesting way.. Turova didn't get any advantage in the opening and at least the game finished with a draw... Turova-Guramishvili 0.5:0.5

Since the cathedral was constructed between 1801-1811, during the time of the Napoleonic campaigns, it became a unique monument to valour of the Russian army. Field Marshal Mikhael Kutuzov, the man who led the army that defeated Napoleon in 1812, is buried inside the cathedral..

My 4-5th days in St.Petersburg

Day 4 - 10.03.09
Round 3 and a walk near the hotel...

3 days went by, the time was like flying and I haven't seen any special things in the city. So I've decided to have a little city tour after the game with my sister.

My next opponent was Sorokina Anastasia 2087 again from Russia and again quite talented girl. But anyway the game finished in 3 hours in my favour.

It was a bit dark, So we've decided to have a walk and see something near around our hotel .. A blue beautiful church near our hotel..

After a nice walk we had our back way to the hotel..

Day 5 -11.03.09
Round 4 and sightseeings in the city center
Round 4 was the begining of a row of my IM opponents.. My next opponent was a very nice woman Matveeva Svetlana 2422 IM from Russia. She is 40 and has got a big experience, so it was kind of difficult to prepare against her, cause she plays nearly everything.. But inspite of that I was lucky and guessed the oppening she would play.. Game Started and I had my 21 moves preparation on my board with a little bit of advantage. But eventually the game finished with draw in a 2:00 hours.

I've finished the game a bit early So we had enough time to go on sightseeings.It was 5:00 pm, we went out and it was indeed freezing... VvvvVVvvv It was so cold, that cold that even a cute pigeon was frozen on the land :)

We gently told our warm hellos and goodbyes to the pigeon and went on our way... The main street in the Saint Petersburg is called ¨Nevsky Prospect¨. We reached that prospect and our tour has taken its greatest start:
Church of Resurrection on the blood :

It has been a long tradition in Russian arcitecture to erect religious buildings in honour of historic events. The church is dedicated to the honour of his majesty Alexander II, as the church stands on the exact spot where the emperor was fatally injured on 1st march of 1881 by a bomb thrown by the radical, Ignaty Grinevitsky. The church is 81m tall as the symbol of the year.

My 1-3 days in St. Petersburg

Day 1 - 07-03-09
7:00 pm. My first step in an amazing St. Petersburg city.

It was already 8:00 pm when I entered my room ¨2159¨ in a 4 star hotel called ¨Park inn¨ which was situated on a 3 minutes walk from the playing hall.

The hotel and the rooms were quite normal, the city was awesome and everything was that white and frosen. I was much too tired, so I didn't even try to go out, just got prepared and went to bed. 2:oo am and something awakes me, I was nearly burning, had a 39 fever. Fortunately I had my elder sister with me and she took such a great care of me, that I was already feeling okay on the other day.

Day 2 - 08.03.09
8th of march - international women's day and my first game

I woke up and got a little lovely cute bear with the words written on its stomach ¨luchaia sestronka¨ = ¨best sister¨ sitting on my bed. It was a cute little surprise from my sister.

After some hours, I went down to see the pairing. My first opponent was Lezhepekova Veronika 1917 from Russia, who got my good friend after the game. I got prepared and one hour before the game my sister and me went out to have a walk and a fresh air. As we went out, everything was covered with the snow and it was totally freezing like -5.

15:00 pm. Flowers on every player's board and the artbiter : ¨Black Start the clock¨.

My game was quite interesting, it lasted 3 hours. Eventually I won my game in 35 moves. I was too tired and had a 37 fever as well. So my sister and me went on our back way.

Day 3 - 09.03.09
Round 2, Tiring day , game which lasted for 5:30 hours.
The tournament already started. My second opponent was Ovod Evgenija 2430 with whom I played a terrible game for 5:30 hours.

Well after the game I was completely exhausted. The game I've played was terrible. I've struggled, struggled but there was no point.... When I finished it was already 9:00 pm. and it was strongly snowing, freezing and the cold wind blowing...
Well nothing much happened on that day. We just went back and had our sweet dreams.. :)
These was my 1-3 days I've spent in St. Petersburg. All the interesting things comes ahead, so keep waiting..

Ladies and Gentlemen

I am back to my sweet home-town. How have you been so far? Long time-no speak..

Well Now I'm gonna tell you briefly about St. Petersburg and the tournament I've played there and later you'll be informed about my every spent days...

St.Petersburg is one of the most beautiful city I've ever seen. It was founded on 27 May 1703. Peter the great made Saint Petersburg the symbol of a new era ¨europeanism and civilisation¨in Russian's history. The rivers, channels, islands and nearly everything is so amazing there that I couldn't stopped saying the word ¨WoW¨. I advice all of you to visit the city, it's indeed worth seeing.

And about the tournament, it went quite well for me, I gained 19points of elo and made my final WGM norm! I dare say that I am indeed happy of my result!

Well, now guys I'll keep it short.. I'll apperantly be more precise in my next reports:)

Hey family,

I had an interesting quick discussion with my german friend about the theme ¨why are girls/women so missunderstandable to men¨, and I wanna share you his and my thoughts about this exact topic..

Nowadays, it is somehow considered, that understanding a female's brain is very difficult!.. It is also admited that women and men live in different worlds, made of different words..

The question ¨Will men ever understand women?¨ takes up and comer place... I often hear the phrase from guys ¨hundreds of questions come to my mind that I would love to be answered by women¨.. For men, understanding the inner-workings of the female mind is nearly impossible. When I asked my friend why are the girls so misunderstandable to men, he answered me: ¨because they say this and mean that¨! I smiled, but after a minute I found out that partly, he was right..

We, women can be incredibly vague, often leaving men searching for the appropriate answer. As well, we can pepper our statements or questions with innuendo, leaving everything open to the males...

But anyway as my freind mentioned: ¨world is much more beautiful with women than it would be without them..¨

So men! try to aprreciate women! We are the only ones, who make your poor lives look beautiful! :D:D
